I was the stranded writer at 3 a.m. Now I rescue manuscripts.
I’m Wendy Woodcock, an independent author. I published my mother’s memoir and her WWII romance myself, then took other authors’ books through the same maze. Along the way I saw how often the same things go wrong. The Manuscript Rescue is built from all of it, backed by decades in compliance and risk management.
Then I realised I had no succession plan for my own author position or my products. If something happened to me, no one would know where my books, royalties and accounts were, or how to keep them going. So I built the Author Publishing Continuity System. Many authors never stop to think that their publishing world is something of value, and that someone may one day need to take it over.

Read about my author journey

Over the past five years, I’ve self-published two collaborative books with my mother, Winifred Rowland: her memoir, Horseshoe Bay, and her WWII romance, The Golden Dog Tag.

Taking a family memoir through to publication also taught me what it means to handle someone else’s story carefully.
You can find all my books at wendyjwoodcock.com.
We are creating a new book, You’ll Find Me Here, to celebrate Mum’s 100th birthday on 11 March 2027. You can join the waiting list here and I’ll tell you the moment it’s available to buy.
Books I’ve helped authors publish
Every author I’ve worked with has taught me something. Here is what Shahid, Jean and Lisa said about working together.

Wendy was professional, patient, and exceptionally meticulous throughout the entire Amazon KDP publishing process. She read my manuscript cover to cover before touching a single file.Shahid Chaudhri, author of If At First

I wrote my first book, and Wendy helped me get it published. She was fantastic, professional, always accessible, full of good ideas, and always willing to go the extra mile. Without her, it would still be an unpublished manuscript.Jean Pousson, author of A Business Raconteur Reveals All

Tommy’s Big Adventures
Six warm, reassuring picture books for autistic and neurodivergent children, their families, friends and teachers, by Lisa Le Page. I helped Lisa self-publish the whole series.
They are absolutely beautiful. I can’t thank you enough. Honestly, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. They’re outstanding. Thank you so much.Lisa Le Page, author of Tommy’s Big AdventuresSee The Complete Collection on Amazon
Why the Fix Kits and Micro Fixes exist
Writing the manuscript is the work I love. Publishing it taught me everything else: formatting for Kindle, navigating KDP, pricing decisions, metadata, cover briefs, ISBNs, the lot.
The Fix Kits and Micro Fixes are built from the same checks I run on my own books, before publication and afterwards, when a book is live and something needs fixing.
